2024 Question and Answer With Haunted Hallows

Home » Blog » Texas Haunts: An In Depth Look

TexasHauntedHouses.com recently sat down with Lynda Tyler of Haunted Hallows, to discuss what's new at Haunted Hallows for the 2024 Halloween Season!

What's new at Haunted Hallows for 2024? Do you have any new rides, attractions, or special features that Haunt Seekers should know about?

There is so much new or improved it’s amazing! We have a new building just full of clowns!! Our mine shaft is 100’ longer than it was last year and the Cemetery has been upgraded with entry gates and a mausoleum. You will have to come and see what is inside it!! The swamp is new, orphanage is new, the nursery is unhinged and we have a surprise at the end of the trail. Our clubhouse is decorated and we will have live music some evenings, food and cocktails all evenings. Just a great place to hang out with your friends and talk about what you saw.

What are you most excited about for the 2024 Halloween Season?

Getting to show off the new scenes. We have done a lot this year and I can see where each year will be better and better.

What differentiates Haunted Hallows from other local haunts in Texas?

We are outside and real. In the real woods with real wildlife, livestock, haunt actors and real outside scenes. At the end we have the haunted clubhouse with food and cocktails that is more for relaxing and soaking up the atmosphere.

How long has Haunted Hallows been in business? Can you tell us a bit more about Haunted Hallows's history?

We , my brother and I, started out as a simple fundraiser to help fund the Coppergate Ranch Horse Rescue and give some fun to the community. So we start everyone in the horse barn. The property has a history of ghosts already. We know of at least 6 people who died in the area and 4 who are buried here. So a haunt was a natural extension. Being a long time farm, we have been able to pull from the old equipment and naturally spooky areas as well. After the enthusiasm we received last year we invested heavily into infrastructure and scene building.

What's your favorite experience since opening Haunted Hallows?

The smiles, laughs and seeing people doing something that doesn’t involve a cellphone or other screen.
The family interactions are wonderful to see. It’s a good time.

How long is a typical haunt experience at Haunted Hallows from start to finish?

Depends on if you walk or run!! Please don’t run, you will probably fall. The trail is 1/2 mile long and takes about 30 minutes to walk. Since we are away from the city, waiting lines are much shorter and lingering around afterwards is longer. So plan at least an hour.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how scary would you say Haunted Hallows is? Why?

5-9 Every person is different. One will interact with a scene and say “that was cool” while another persons knees will buckle and they pee themselves. We get it all. The good news is because we have great amounts of space, we see you coming and the actors will customize the scare. Young children won’t have the same scare as a cocky teen. So yeah. Come see.

Does Haunted Hallows's property have any real haunted history? Do you have a spooky encounter you'd like to share?

Yes. Granny still haunts the property. She likes the temperature cold so you will get a chill. And she likes touching tattoos. We also have what we call a phantasm that messes with power, hides tools, and does things that makes us go “what was that?”

What inspired you to open up a haunted attraction? What's your favorite part of the business?

We have always dabbled in the entertainment business and loved Halloween. There are not many options for teens out here and we thought it would be fun to try it one year and we got hooked. It is definitely a creative outlet and with Halloween props - it doesn’t have to be perfect.

How has new technology (i.e. animatronics, special props, etc) helped you to enhance Haunted Hallows?

We have some fabulous new lasers that we are looking forward to seeing guests reaction to. We have had fog machines but are also using large atomizers to create fog. Since we are outside, animatronics just don’t last and they don’t interact so we go with real and alive whenever possible.

Can Haunted Hallows accommodate large groups? How many people can experience Haunted Hallows together as a group?

We try to run through groups of no more than 6 at a time. We want everyone to have a good experience. We can handle a tour busload of people, but will send them through in smaller groups while the others can go straight to the club if they want and we’ll text them when it is close to time.

Does Haunted Hallows offer any special deals, discounts, or coupons?

We do have group rates for 19 or more and when you order tickets there is a social
Media discount option that will save you 10% when you share online.

Anything else you'd like to let us know about Haunted Hallows?

Watch out for Serious Black (we call him Scipio). A huge black dog generally accompanied by a lab named Ayla. Both are extremely friendly but Scipio is huge, wickedly smart and terrifying to those unaware.
